The country was shaken upon knowing that the young famous actor AJ Perez or Antonelle Joseph Sarte Perez died in a vehicular accident. He was pronounced dead at 12:20am April 17, 2011.He was on his way home from Dagupan to Manila when a truck and a passenger bus had hit their car causing him to sustain multiple head injury. He was dead on the spot.

AJ Perez had just finished his show in Dagupan to celebrate the annual Bangus Festival. On their way home he was with his father and 4 others including the driver.  AJ’s father said that he was sleeping when the accident happened. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but the doctors could not revive AJ, he was pronounces dead. His companions in the other hand got injured. His last tweets were something to do with the show in Dagupan which he thanked the people for watching the show.

The showbiz industry was grieving upon hearing such devastating story. He was said to have inspired many actors and actresses for this guy is a very passionate and a loving person in the entertainment industry.

Looking back, AJ Perez was first introduced in 2006 as a member of Star Magic batch 13. After being discovered in a local TV commercial, many projects were offered to him causing him to be more popular. His latest Project was the afternoon show entitled “Sabel” with Jessy Mendiola and Joseph Marco. The cast of “Sabel” could not believe the misfortune. On April 21, 2011, Jessy Mendiola thought that the news was only a joke but later she was convinced that the accident was true. She said that she would miss her leading man.

During the funeral the family decided to donate his corneas to the Eye Bank Foundation of the Philippines. Fatima Soriano, the blind singer was said to be the receiver of AJ’s cornea. Unfortunately Fatima had a retinal problem rather than corneal problem, which is why the cornea was not given to her. On the latest news instead of one beneficiary, AJ’s corneas have two Beneficiaries.

Many love the actor’s charming looks and good boy image that is why many was sadden with what had happened. AJ Perez if given a chance to live will have be the next best actor in the industry. He was even compared to the late actor Rico Yan and proposed AJ as the next Rico Yan.

AJ had lived a very colourful life. At the age of 18 he had already touched many lives and inspired many people. His family and friends continue to grieve due to his early death and until now they couldn’t believe what had happened. In addition, his family, friends and fans continue to pray for his repose soul and pays him tribute on what had he become in that short lifespan. If only AJ is still living he may be one of the rising star but he was gone too soon.
